March 2008 President’s Report

Welcome to yet another month of Sports Sedan Racing Action. Round 1 in our 2008 Club and CAMS Championship went off without any great hiccups with plenty of bright and shiny new vehicles.

We saw the CAMS debut of Bob Gills immaculate BF Falcon and an equally impressive rebirth Calibra of Neil Bryson.

Now with Garry Roberts in another Torana, I will have to lift my game a little!

Coming in the mail this month to all financial competitor log book members will be our voting form for a few items that have been raised for comment and voting by our membership. We will quickly discuss these items at our next club meeting so if you want your say firstly pay your membership and secondly come along to Bells to have your say and have some input into our racing future.

In line with the overview of our regulations, some 2 years ago the time has come to review and see if the changes and freedoms allowed a few years ago have had the desired results Australia wide in both State and National level. The NSSC has found a few anomalies that we need to address and other items that may need refinement. We will only consider constructive feedback, not just someone having a whinge. If you see something that you do not understand please ask, and if you see something that could be improved on to make our category better, please let us know, as your Committee is here for YOU.

General meetings for 2008 will be every second month at 8pm sharp at Bells Hotel.  Anybody ordering dinner before the meeting: please be seated in the area allocated to us by the venue.  If you are not there by 8pm the meeting will commence without you. On the months that there is not an official general meeting, feel free to still come along and chat about how fast we all used to be.

Anyway out to the shed to get the Torana ready for Round 2.

Damian Johnson.
President 2008
ASSA Vic.
